El Priorat, well known for its wines, is one of the less populated regions of Catalonia.
It is based on the valleys of Monsant and Siurana rivers. In between of them, we find the Montsant mountains.
Its climate is continental. The economy is based on the agriculture: wine, olive and almond trees.
There are lots of interesting places or spots to visit:
Dams: Els Guiamets, Siurana and Margalef (in the two first you can practice canoe)
The ruins of the old Carthusian Monastery
Montsant mountains
Several hermitages: Sant Salvador, Sant Roc, Sta. Llucia, Sta. Magdalena, Sant Bartomeu…
